Can anyone explain why Ned Rhyerson was led away by the police, rather than in CIA custody? Surely, he would be as likely to tip off his Fulcrum appointed lawyer as to Chuck's 'Intersect' status, or at least 'protectee', as Frank Mauser.

He didn't know Chuck's status, Mauser never shared and that whole discussion was handled quietly between him and Chuck. Had Mauser lived, sure, he'd have been made privy, but as it was, Mauser had Chuck and the information and he was the only one, hence Mauser's execution, and Ned got to spend his life in prison.
